The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is organizing a business mission to Japan for Russian companies in the field of wooden housing, which will be held from 20 to 22 November 2018.
“The unique experience in the field of wooden housing makes Japan one of the industry leaders in the world. Modern technologies that are widely used here are the trends of not only today, but already tomorrow. Of course, the study of the latest world developments is necessary for the further development of wooden housing in Russia. In addition, we hope to strengthen mutually beneficial partnership in the field of the timber industry between our countries, ”commented the forthcoming visit of Russian companies to Japan by the State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Evtukhov.
As part of the business mission, Russian representatives will hold a series of meetings with industry-specific associations and traders, visit finished objects and manufacturing enterprises.
Among the planned events is a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Trade of Japan and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. It is planned to discuss issues of international trade in the field of forestry.
Also in the business program will include a meeting with the trading company Tairiku – Trading Co. Ltd. and a discussion with Japan Plywood Inspection Corporation (JPIC) on Japanese Agricultural Standards JAS. The association is engaged in certification of glued products (plywood, LVL, glued laminated timber, etc.). During the meeting, they will discuss issues of specification and requirements for products imported into Japan.
During their visit to Japan, Russian companies will visit the Japan Home & Building Show in Tokyo, the TVK Housing Plaza Yokohama houses exhibition in Yokohama (61 model houses built by 35 leading Japanese construction companies) and see the pavilion of the Smart Health Home Smart Welness House in the city of Tsurumi. Smart Wellness House is a realized concept of a residential building, in the construction of which wood is widely used (wood building materials, windows, doors, floor coverings). The house is made with the use of energy-saving materials and has a high degree of tightness and thermal insulation.
At the moment, Japan is among the top three countries leading in the import of products of the Russian timber industry. At the end of 2017, exports of forest products to Japan amounted to $ 504.8 million, which is 23% more than in 2016.
